Cryptocurrencies are fast becoming rivals to traditional currency across the world. The digital currencies are available to purchase in many different places, making it accessible to everyone, and with retailers accepting various cryptocurrencies it could be a sign that money as we know it is about to go through a major change. Due to its ultra-modern nature, it is difficult for new users/ beginners to articulate themselves in the market. The not-yet-legal tender poses a genuine fear and concern on users that it encourages illegal activities and fraud

WHAT DOES THE CURRENT TV LANDSCAPE LOOK LIKE? I wanted to get a clear picture of how our primary users went about discovering new crypto and updates. In order to get a better understanding of their behaviors and motivations, here are some research techniques I used for the redesign. METHOD #1: QUALITATIVE & QUANTITATIVE DATA By performing in-person interviews and conducting surveys, I learnt existing user behaviors for cryptocurrency discovery and management. Findings included studying crypto apps, existing crypto analytics market and user preferences for crypto analytics. Some of the learnings are shared below. METHOD #2: USER REVIEWS ON APP STORES I sifted through hundreds of reviews and comments left by users on Play Store and Apple Store, and further categorized them under buckets and highlighted them in terms of importance. This was some crucial feedback that helped me identify various pain points and areas of improvement. Quantitative survey via social networks I also did an instagram survey to find out if people have already bought cryptocurrencies, with follow up questions to understand why they have already done so, or why they haven’t.

Simple and/or professional platforms already exist, but they lack either greater accessibility to all audiences - especially the Indian - a clear visualization of the evolution of their investments, the ability to secure their savings, or the ability to manage their cryptocurrency and local coin portfolios in a simple and intuitive way.

From this research, I was able to conclude that most of the people buying cryptocurrencies today are men, around 30 years old. They spend about 1 hour (on average) each week monitoring their portfolio, and can invest a lot of money if they trust the platforms they use, especially with the motivation to make money without doing much. Therefore, the most successful features are those that guarantee automatic returns. On the other hand, the other half of the people interviewed do not know how to buy or where to buy, they are afraid of insecurity and risks, or they got tired of managing their cryptocurrencies due to lack of results or fun. Before proceeding I also conducted a UX audit of the existing product screens, findings include lack of harmony, difficuly navigation and accesibility.

WhatsCrypto is a ALL in One app for cryptocurrency updates and aggregators. Authenticate and provide the highest level of sense of security and Trust among crypto holders.makes  easier, faster and more informative, making it the best place to discover what crypto to watch, and necessary updates, anytime, anywhere. I was part of ambitious project and led the Ideation, strategy and Product design for its app across its Android and iOS platforms.

Designing for TRUST When dealing with highly sensitive data, maintaining the user’s trust is critical. Users must perceive the applications to be reliable, trustworthy, and stable. This is accomplished through data exposure, consistency, feedback, and active guidance. Designing this into products means providing the user with clear feedback and active guidance through every task.

Problem statement: Cryptocurrency is fairly a new investing and trading platform that is still unlocking to the masses. Due to its ultra-modern nature, it is difficult for new users/ beginners to articulate themselves in the market. The not-yet-legal tender poses a genuine fear and concern on users that it encourages illegal activities and fraud A simple yet appealing platform that acts as a POC ( point of contact) to ensure trust amongst the users and a Positive outlook.

Some Ideas generated after the ideation process: Based on research, I learned most crypto users tend to have multiple coins and prefer multi-wallet apps which I offered in my app. I integrated charts and graphs and other trading options to help a user make decisions faster I provided an intuitive onboarding to ease new users into the app and provided tooltips to guide a user’s decision-making every step of the way. Our hypothesis We believe that by creating a unique educational application for cryptocurrency and FIAT currency management for crypto lovers, newbies or not, we will open up access to this other world to many people who were previously reluctant, build their loyalty and make cryptocurrency part of their daily life and saving habits. Based on my previous research and findings, I created a simple information architecture for our new application, which covers the main features needed by our user. It was designed based on existing banking solutions, enhanced with new functionalities MVP.

This is an experimental phase aimed at identifying the best possible solution for each of the problems identified during the first three stages. My solutions were implemented within the HiFi prototypes, and I reviewed them with some users by conducting A/B tests. By the end of this stage, I had a better idea of the constraints inherent to the product and the problems that are present. Also, had a clearer view of how real users would behave, think, and feel when interacting with the end product. I designed light and dark themes for better accessibility.

Design systems are made of many components, patterns, styles, and guidelines, which can help operationalize and optimize your design efforts. However, they are designed, managed, and implemented by people. We chose the color Navy Blue is a cool color with hex #004DEB which has a cold feeling. Navy blue represents trust and stability and is less attention-seeking than lighter shades of blue. Navy blue is conservative and evokes feelings of tradition and convention. i have designed for both dark and light mode for better accesibility.

The next step is to test the prototype. As they say at Stanford’s d.school: “Prototype as if you know you’re right, but test as if you know you’re wrong. I would test the prototype to: Identify any potential confusion in navigation Validate the existing feature set and navigation Gather insight about the current layout Possibly eliminate excessive content Refine the POV Learn more about cryptocurrency and its users, and make the next iteration of the product better. N/B: Not everyone agrees to the backup to cloud option because it is not very secure. I had to include it as an option due of the majority that complained of losing their wallets because they couldn’t memorize and couldn’t get a hardware wallet.

The project succesfully increased the retention rate increased by 45%, even the conversion and app download rates increased by minimum of 20%. the login error decreased by 30%. With proper marketing and addition of future wallets, the future of WC is quite promising.
